Sizing
10cm - Ideal for medium-thick, mid-length, textured hair.
12cm - Ideal for long, thick, textured hair.
13.5cm - Ideal for extra long, very thick, textured hair. Including hair coils, braids and locs.
Materials
Clip Body: produced with cellulose acetate, a strong and durable fibre made from wood pulp and cotton fibres. It is biodegradable upon disposal, making this an environmentally friendly choice. It is flexible and durable and will outlast plastic.
Clip Spring: produced with steel and bound in a resin cast. It is attached to the cellulose acetate body with a high quality, flexible glue.
PRODUCT CARE
RITCHEL MONAGHAN claw clips are made from cellulose acetate. Unlike plastic, cellulose acetate has a range of flexibility to it and it is extremely durable. Due to its flexible nature, cellulose acetate doesn't break as easily on impact or when put under pressure when compared to plastic.
If you were to compare a plastic claw clip to a cellulose acetate claw clip, the rigid plastic claw clip would break when stepped on or if a gentle pressure was applied to the teeth. Under the same pressures, a cellulose acetate clip can mould and flex to withstand a level of pressure. They are not indestructible, but they are far more resistant to breaking than the usual plastic used for a claw clip.
Due to its flexible nature, over time and with use, a claw clip may expand out due to the pressure of your hair. An added benefit of a claw clip is that it can be moulded back to shape and prolong how long it can be used for.
